Silvia Weidenbach: Gilbert Collection Resident Open Studio

In this special Open Studio, Silvia Weidenbach will be in conversation with filmmaker Andrew Smith about their latest film project "Unboxing Metis", a short theatre piece inspired by Silvia's jewellery shot at the Victoria and Albert Museum. A short preview of the film with be unveiled, in partnership with Pedro Caxade, Teneisha Bonner, Miguel Ramires and Sigi Schwab. 


Jewellery Visions: Create your own 3-D Printed Jewellery

Join V&A Gilbert Collection Resident Silvia Weidenbach for a pop-up talk, set against the visual delights of her jewellery display 'Have Your cake and Eat it Too'. This talk will see Silvia joined by fellow jeweller Christopher Thompson Royds and V&A Curator Charlotte Johnson to discuss this playful intervention which asks visitors to consider notions of good taste and the consumption of luxury goods. Symposium Thinking Jewellery XI

The theme of this year's symposium is the Material of Art: Imagination and virtual worlds. ‘SchmuckDenken’ [Thinking Jewellery] is the attempt to reflect upon what jewellery is.
